Park Place Dealerships is expanding in Fort Worth with plans to build a Maserati showroom and body shop on Bryant Irvin Road, just south of its Park Place Mercedes-Benz dealership.
Dallas-based Park Place now offers Maserati, the ultimate in Italian sports cars, only at its Dallas location. On its website, a 2013 Maserati GranTurismo convertible is listed for $147,960. The 7,000-square-foot dealership will be at 5760 Bryant Irvin Road, on the west side of Bryant Irvin and just south of Oakbend Trail in southwest Fort Worth. Construction is scheduled to begin in June, with an opening expected in spring 2014, spokeswoman Carolyn Alvey said. The dealership will have a 30,000-square-foot body shop, she said. Construction costs were placed at $2.2 million. Maserati plans to introduce two new vehicles that will be highly sought after by enthusiasts, including the Ghibli, an entry-level sedan that will be available this fall, she said. The carmaker is also introducing the Quattroporte, a redefined vehicle with either a V-8 or V-6 engine, she said. Those two vehicles coming out make it appealing for Maserati to have a new market, Alvey said. Fort Worth is a market theyve never had before and the price point and expanded offerings make it very attractive. Its a good time to build. Park Place also sells Lexus in Grapevine, but sells top-line cars such as Bentley and Lotus at its dealerships in Dallas and Plano. Sundance Plaza manager Sundance Square has hired Colleen Joyce, a marketing and entertainment professional, to manage events at its new public plaza. Joyce joins Sundance Square from the Gaylord Texan Resort Convention Center in Grapevine, where she has worked in marketing since 2004. She most recently was its talent buyer and entertainment manager, booking and managing all live entertainment for the Gaylord Texan, convention clients and Glass Cactus nightclub. Billboard magazine listed the Glass Cactus among the top 25 hottest clubs in North America in 2011 and 2012. Kathryn Grenig, who has been employed by Sundance Square for nearly three years, was recently promoted to plaza coordinator and will assist Grenig. We are now well-staffed and preparing for the opening of the new plaza this fall, said Tracy Gilmour, Sundance Squares marketing director. This team will give us the ability to offer a full array of programming throughout the year in the plaza in addition to hosting numerous community events. The plaza is expected to open in November. It is between Commerce and Houston streets, and Third and Fourth streets, and between the Commerce and Westbrook office buildings that are under construction. Sundance Plaza will feature a stage, water fountains and features, and covered seating areas.
