Jagersro (Malmo): Lanwades Stud Jagersro Sprint (Listed) 6f, dirt, 3yo+

Wolverhampton Wanderers may have have been relegated for the second year in a row last weekend but their colours will still be seen in action in Europe on Tuesday.

Aubrietia will wear the gold silks of the Shropshire Wolves, a syndicate made up of keen supporters, when she tackles the Listed Lanwades Stud Jagersro Sprint over 6f on a dirt surface at Jagersro in Sweden.

Trainer Alan McCabe is having his second crack at the race and said: “We ran Fratellino to finish fourth in it last year. The surface didn’t suit him but it should suit her as she is unbeaten on fibresand and it is similar to that.

“She ran well enough the other day in a muddling race at Warwick and we thought we would go for a bit of black type. She is in good form. It is an experiment but she owes us nothing as she has won nine races since we got her last July.”

He added: “The Swedish ratings put us fourth or fifth but they are different types of horses and we have booked a local jockey who has won the race a couple of times before. He knows the track and he was quite keen to ride her.”

Manuel Martinez is that jockey, and he and Aubretia face seven opponents.

Jagersro: IKC Fonder Pramms Memorial (Group 3) 1m 143yds, dirt, 4yo+ (8.06pm BST)

Twelve go to post for the first Group race of the season in Scandanavia, worth 500,000 krone to the winner, with German-trained Empire Storm (Andreas Wohler/Eduardo Pedroza) looking to step up on his third behind Premio Loco in this race last year.

He shaped well behind Global Thrill in a Dusseldorf Group 3 on his return to action last month and is likely to vie for favouritism with locally-trained Luca Brasi (Francisco Castro/Valmir De Azerado), an impressive winner on this course last time out, and Norwegian-trained Plantagenet (Niels Petersen/Per-Anders Graberg), who picked up a victory at Meydan in March for his Spanish stable before being bought by current connections.
Earlier on the card at 7.42pm, the last three winners of the Swedish Derby line up for the Tattersalls Malmo Varhandicap, with Moe Green (Francisco Castro/Valmir De Azerado), Without Fear (Niels Petersen/Per-Anders Graberg) and Bomar (Wido Neuroth/Eduardo Pedroza) featuring in a field of 11 for the 100,000 krone first prize.
