WNCE/Channel 8, or “Look TV,” a low power television station in Glens Falls, NY, may be listed for sale, but its owner isn’t sure.
The web site RadioTVDeals.com has a listing for a Class A station in New York’s Capital Region.
It says the station owns its own tower, as Look TV does.
It says the owner is about to retire, and Jesse Jackson, who purchased Channel 8 in 2005, is now 65.
“I think it’s us, but I don’t know,” Jackson said.
Jackson said he was working with a broker and told him that “everything’s for sale” and he would consider a decent offer for the station. He also mentioned a desire to spend more time with his grandchildren.
But, he said, he did not tell the broker to actively list the station.
The broker seems high on Channel 8, calling it “a beauty and a well run piece of property” in a market where “the money has yet to be tapped.”
Look TV broadcasts at 15,000 watts from a tower on the top of West Mountain in Queensbury. Its covers Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties over air and is carried on Time Warner Cable in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga counties. The station’s programming includes local news, music, hunting, cooking and magazine shows.
