The Richard Hannon-trained Producer got the better of Aljamaaheer in the King Richard III Stakes at Leicester.

With four absences from the intended field of nine, just five headed to post for the Listed contest and Aljamaaheer was a warm order to land the spoils.

Drawn on the rail, Paul Hanagan asked the Dubawi colt to stride on from the stalls but having seen off Majestic Myles, his danger was sat in behind and Richard Hughes eventually secured a run on the 11/4 chance to wear down the leader in the shadows of the post.

The victory sealed a double on the card for trainer and jockey as they teamed up in the opener with 9/4 favourite, Intrigo, and Hughes was to make it three on the day as Tawafuk (11/4f) obliged in the Play Ten To Follow At totepool.com Handicap for Roger Varian.
