Ned Kelly film location listed at Bacchus Marsh – Property Observer

A Long Forest, Bacchus Marsh district property that was a setting for the Australian blockbuster film Ned Kelly has been listed for sale with an asking price of $4 million.

The 76 Bulldog Lane listing comprises 84 hectare situated 50 kilometres west of Melbourne.

The 2003 film, which stars Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush, was partially filmed on the land. A hut which appears in the film is still present.

Other Australian productions, including the 1980s mini-series Flying Doctors, were also filmed at 76 Bulldog Lane.

There are three houses and six paddocks on the property.

The original homestead is an older weatherboard and is currently leased. The main house is brick veneer and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a study. It offers views of the Bacchus Marsh Valley, Market Garden and Famous Avenues of Honour to the west. There is also a self-contained one-bedroom house on the land.

A Telstra tower sits on the south eastern edge of the land which is currently leased to a return of $25,000 each year.

There is also 150 acres of farming/cropping/grazing land and a 29 megalitre water right which is pipe fed to the property.
