Pullman police piece together events leading up to Warner assault

PULLMAN, WA – Now that the four main suspects in the David Warner assault have been identified, police are continuing their investigation by identifying any other suspects or witnesses.

Pullman Police Chief Gary Jenkins said they aren’t releasing any information about the events that occurred leading up to the assault because the investigation is ongoing and they’re still trying to piece together exactly what happened. However they have confirmed that 31-year-old Lawrence McDonald, who was with Warner when he was assaulted, could be another suspect.

“If during that investigation, we determine that someone else, including Mr. McDonald, was involved in some type of assault or other criminal activity, then we’ll take action that’s appropriate for the information we determine,” said Jenkins.

Jenkins said investigators have surveillance footage that shows at least part of the assault, and they are also reviewing videos that witnesses took on their cell phones. Police are still asking anyone who witnessed the assault, or the events leading up to it to come forward with any information. Warner is still at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane and is listed in serious condition.
