HOUSTON, TX – Have you noticed, houses are selling like hotcakes.  The sign goes up and before you know it a contract is signed.

“A lot of times when one comes on the market the realtors are bringing the contract for the house, if it’s a neighborhood the client is interested in,” says Susan Becker with Keller Williams Realty.

They call it flash sales. Get it? Houses selling in a flash.

“They know that they need to be the first person there or they might lose it to, we’re getting two, three, five sales contracts on every house.”

According to Business Insider, Houston is third on the list of cities where houses sell within hours of being listed. 188 between October of 2012 and February of 2013.

Phoenix topped the list, with Chicago truly being the Second City. Dallas and Austin also made the list right behind the Bayou City.

Now, houses like movie theaters, are touting coming attractions. “Coming soon” can also being spotted on realtor signs.

“A lot of times they’ll put a coming soon sign. Theyll go ahead and sign the paperwork while the seller is getting the house ready. They will be able to go ahead and get calls on the sign from buyers.”

Some might be foreclosed homes that need work prior to going on the market.

“It’s a great time to sell your house. If you’re even thinking about it, right now is the time to put it on the market.”
