March 2013 sees the Beta launch of Daybees (www.daybees.com) the most advanced free-to-use events search engine and mobile site in the world, with the iPhone and Android apps coming soon. Whereas

traditional search engines return a barrage of often-irrelevant information and blind-alleys, Daybees offers highly targeted and comprehensive results from its continually growing database of over 1.5 million UK and international events. Whatever your interests – from auctions and galleries to concerts, culture and sports fixtures – Daybees allows users to know exactly what is happening in any area at any given time, no matter how niche or mainstream the event.

Multiple ways to search for an event – then easily integrate within existing calendars

The user-friendly search function allows events to be filtered by genre, keyword, location and date. In terms of location, users are able to search within a postcode, town, city, or UK-wide and once selected, an event can then be added to a user’s personalised Daybees calendar, as well as exported to existing calendars. The advanced, yet easy-to-use, Daybees calendar allows users to organise and assimilate all aspects of their lives while accessing an unprecedented data bank of events.

Daybees users are also able to select a number of unique pre-programmed ‘layers’ of dates (such as national holidays or religious festivals) into their Daybees calendar with one simple click.

Aggregating information from across the web, Daybees’ pioneering technology allows users to search for both free and ticketed events within over 230 genres and categories. The beauty of Daybees is simple: it is the best event search engine on the planet, covering everything from the micro- niche to larger, more established events.

How Daybees provides the most comprehensive information

In order to collect such extensive event information, Daybees uses bespoke web crawlers that are able to extract data from web sites hosted all over the world and assimilate them in their wonderfully complex data stack. Data is then formatted, merged, tagged, categorised and compiled to be presented to users in a uniform and engaging interface. Users are able to add and invite others to private events within their Daybees calendar, and in the coming months event organisers will also be able to list their own public events within the Daybees database, enabling groups and individuals to list and publicise any bona-fide events.

An independent site, offering a direct route to ticket purchasing points

Daybees is completely independent and is not affiliated with any ticket sales outlets. This allows Daybees to provide a much broader range of unbiased event information than many other sites, that are heavily influenced by ticket sales. However, ticketed events listed on Daybees are also linked to every external site where tickets can be purchased, creating a streamlined process where a user can search for an event, add it to their calendar, buy tickets, and invite their friends to come along via social media, all through one online portal. Similarly, integrated maps within individual event pages provide exact directions and venue locations for all listings, and cloud-based technology ensures that any changes to events in the Daybees calendar are updated automatically across all devices.

Gary Morris, Founder of Daybees, comments: “Until now, finding something to do online was a nightmare, but Daybees is the solution: it’s a search engine just for events, functioning through an advanced personalised calendar. Just as you Google for information, you’ll Daybees for events. Daybees offers something completely new with its joined-up approach to the events industry, and its unprecedented database of events allows users to search, share and organise their calendar with just one click. With cloud technology ensuring that any updates or changes to your events are synced automatically within your calendar, users need never miss out on anything ever again. Daybees is a user- friendly, highly-advanced digital solution to an age-old problem; it will revolutionise users’ lives, and they’ll wonder how they ever managed without it.”
