The Hunterdon County Family Success Center (FSC) is proud to announce the following events and presentations during the weeks of April 1 and April 8. All programs will be held at the FSC, located at 3 East Main St. in Flemington.

April 2, 4, 9 and 11
3–5 p.m.
Homework Helpers
Student volunteers from Hunterdon Central High School, many of whom are members of the National Honor Society, will be available for kids of all ages who need help with their homework. Contact the FSC at 908-237-0465 to register your child.

Hope Through Healing
Learn how to use writing and journaling to heal and empower. This workshop will be facilitated by Debbie Pirozolli. To register, contact the FSC at 908-237-0465.

Girls/Moms Nite In is an empowerment group for girls 12 and older. While the girls meet, the moms can get together too. Call Carol Dvoor, 908-237-0465, at the FSC for more information.

Walking Club
Spring is officially here, although Winter doesn’t want to let go! But the FSC staff are being optimistic and will start walking again around the neighborhood. The group will walk on Thursdays from 10–11 a.m., Fridays from 9:30–10:30 a.m. and Mondays from 9–10 a.m. No registration is necessary; just come by ready to walk!

Monthly budgeting workshops will be held starting in March. Learning how to budget can secure your future and prevent homelessness. Topics will include:

· Financial Fitness for Kids

· How to plan for emergencies and milestones

Hispanic Community Workshop
This one-hour educational workshop is provided to members of the Hispanic community to be eligible for free diapers. Discussions include topics such as parenting issues and nutrition. Moms Nite In / Ten Legal Tips Every Mom Should Know
This workshop will be presented by local attorney Nicole Voigt. Topics will include:

1. What happens to my children if I die without a will?
2. What happens to my property if I die without a will?
3. Does it matter if both my spouse and I are listed on bank accounts, car titles, and similar?
4. Is my family protected from my spouse’s and/or my own business liabilities?
5. Am I liable for the debts of my spouse?
6. Why do I need a Power of Attorney and a Living Will?
7. How should I take title to real estate?
8. Am I overpaying for my real estate taxes?
9. How do I know if a contractor is properly licensed in the State of New Jersey?
10. When should I formalize agreements in writing?

FSO Parent Support Group
Support group for the parents of children or young adults living with mental health challenges. A light lunch will be provided. Sponsored by the Family Support Organization of Hunterdon, Somerset, Warren Counties. For more information about this support group, contact Michele Wall at the FSO, 908-231-9932.

Please note that some programs held at the Family Success Center are presented by outside parties utilizing the FSC facilities.

The FSC is administered by Hunterdon Prevention Resources (HPR), in collaboration with Hunterdon Helpline, with funding from the New Jersey Department of Children and Families. The mission of the FSC is to provide a welcoming family-friendly environment to all county residents in order to strengthen and empower individuals and families through collaborative family-centered activities, educational workshops, and access to resources to acquire knowledge and skills needed to maintain healthy family relationships.
