SAN DIEGO – The mansion near San Diego where millionaire Jonah Shacknai’s son and girlfriend died in 2011 will soon be listed for sale at an asking price of $16.9 million.
U-T San Diego reported Monday that the real estate broker for the Coronado home says it will be listed in the next 4-6 weeks.
Shacknai, the CEO and founder of Arizona-based Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp., owns the historic home known as Spreckels Mansion.
In 2011, police discovered Shacknai’s girlfriend Rebecca Zahau bound and hanging from the mansion’s balcony two days after Shacknai’s 6-year-old son Max was fatally injured from a second-story fall.
Investigators called Max’s death an accident and Zahau’s a suicide.
The agent says the home has since received a top-to-bottom renovation; no changes were made to the balcony.
