CRAIG Hammond has vowed to fight for his future at Cambridge City after being transfer listed by the club.
The striker said he has no desire to leave the club and wants to continue leading the line at the Pro-Edge Stadium as the club continue their push for a place in the top five of the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division.
“I want the fans to know I haven’t asked for a transfer,” he said.
“I’m still dedicated to being a centre forward at City and don’t want to go anywhere. I want to continue being a part of this club and helping them push up the league, starting with the game on Saturday”
Hammond, who completes a two-match ban when City entertain Chippenham Town this evening, is on contract at City until the end of the season. He has scored 23 goals in all competitions for City this season and is their leading scorer.
The former Royston and Histon forward has been a key player for the Lilywhites since joining the club in the summer of 2010. He was an instant hit, scoring 38 goals in the 2010/11 campaign and following it up with 26 in 2011/12.
His last goal for City came when he scored twice in the 3-2 win over Wisbech Town in the Cambs Invitation Cup semi-final on February 19.
