For the first time since Derrick Rose underwent knee surgery, the Chicago Bulls are listing him as day-to-day, giving their fans hope that the point guard is getting closer and closer to playing this season. Per CSN Chicago: “Whether intentional or not, the Bulls head coach didn’t do much to make that subside with a few key words before Tuesday’s practice at the ATT Center: ‘Day-to-day.’ Now, it’s important to put things in context, as Thibodeau was explaining the process that Rose would have to go through to be completely medically cleared to play. ‘There’s a lot of people that have to weigh in on it and obviously he knows his body. Everybody’s got to sign off on it. Whenever he’s ready, he’s ready. Nothing has changed for us. For our team, I want them to continue to concentrate on improvement and our opponent, and for Derrick, I want him to continue to concentrate on his rehab. We’re 60 games into this now. I think going into the season, we had a lot of question marks. I think we have more answers now. We’ve figured out, I think, who we are. We’re heading down the stretch, we’ve got to continue to improve and then we’ll go from there,’ he said. ‘It’s day-to-day. Whenever he’s ready, he’s ready. We just want him to continue to improve, focus on his rehab and then, when he’s ready to go, we’ll all know. Everyone has to remain patient.’ As Thibodeau indicated, knowingly or not, there isn’t much time left in the regular season for Rose to play—presumably first on a minutes limit—so his comments will only fuel the fire of those who believe that the former league MVP will play any day now.”

In other words, another misleading slam headline.
-
actually no, the team is listing him as day-to-day
-
im reading that the next update will be ‘game time decision’ and so forth
-
rose needs to play get him off the bench man he is ready he is agressive and athletic and more powerful than ever before
-
let him play
-
Chicago fans, I really hope you appreciate the type of ballplayer Rose is. One that is willing to do anything to get back on the court and re-assert his claim as a top 5 player in the league.
Signed,
Every Sixer Fan -
Congrats, how did you find out he’s more aggressive? Did you play against him?
-
By every Sixer fan, does that include the ones who cheered at this injury?
-
Are you Derrick Rose? You know that he’s ready? When did you talk to him?
-
The ones who should know that had he not gotten hurt, the Sixers would have been done in 5 games in that series.
-
Are you this miserable in real life? There are bad fans in every city. Get off your high horse.
-
If he was coming back this month, I was expecting it to be after the stretch of road games next week. But it sounds like he could be back any day now. Whenever he returns, it’ll be great to see him on the court with the team again.
-
Derrick will come back at 10 min a game intially. Get annoyed by Rose fans(keyword Rose, not Bulls fans) saying Rose will return and we’ll all a sudden become elite.
The reality is if he makes 10-15 points, that’ll be impressive. Got to be patient, he’ll get back to form and heck the dude is a top 5 player, might score more now and then.
All in all I’m excited, with the emergence of Jimmy Butler, I like our backcourt.
-
Truth. Maybe 6. Sixers were a top defensive team last year.
-
I’m a Rose fan, not a Bulls fan. There’s no way the Bulls will just return to being the 2nd best team in the East when he returns like some people think. It will take time. The only way they’ll be able to beat the Pacers and challenge the Heat is if he is 90% of what he was before he got hurt. I don’t see that happening until next season. Even if he gets there physically, mentally is another story. That may be what’s holding him back now. They are built on defense and Rose’s offensive ability. If he can’t score the way he did before the injury, they will struggle. He says he will be a different kind of player whenever he comes back. I’m looking forward to seeing what that is.
-
After seeing what he did to them in Game 1 not being 100% healthy (23, 9 and 9), I don’t think they would have had any success at all with even containing him. The Bulls were better defensively. And the Sixers didn’t have a guy who could match Rose’s scoring consistently.
-
When he gets up from the bench, takes his warmups off and runs to the scorer’s table to check in, the United Center will be live. Hope it’s on national TV.
-
I’m keying in on the Jazz still.
-
He still said he won’t quit penetrating and that’s his game. He definitely should be a better shooter now tho.
Na I meant “Bulls fans” that only watch for Rose. I gotta fix that, but yeah I’ve heard him say he still feels a pinch when he drives left(I believe) so that’s troublesome to hear.
-
Miserable? Yes I am, I’m studying what I’ve always wanted to and young appreciating life..I’m miserable dude.
You’re an idiot, Philly fans are notoriously douches in general. Get off your high horse before you point a finger.
-
I’m wondering if I should buy tix to that game last min…it would be unbelievable to be in the UC when Rose takes the court
-
sorry but the only fans worse than the ones in Philly are Utah…actually maybe Philly is the worst regardless…good initial post though!
-
Know which fans are douches? The ones of the teams that are winning. Case in point:
1. Lakers fans, nobody has ever liked them because the Lakers ALWAYS win.
2. Nobody cared about Boston fans the past 2 decades until about 2007.
3. Ditto for Knicks until 2009.
4. Ditto for Heat fans until 2010.
5. Remember how hated Cleveland fans were? How they were attacked for always propping up LeBron so much? Where are they now?
6. Ditto for Pistons fans from like 1999-2005.In short, nobody cares about the petty squabbles of Philly and Chi fans right now, because we know BOTH fan groups become insufferable once their team starts winning.
-
Prediction: Rose will either return against the Lakers at staples center( since he says thats his second favorite city and place to play besides Chicago) or March 18th against the Denver Nuggets at home.
-
if u wanna buy tix (for a very high premium most likely) at the club level section, i can give u a number
-
You have season tix? but no man, my budget doesn’t quite have room for that lol…usually what I do is buy 300 level seats the day of…usually spend around $15!
-
I wonder if he will get to full minutes by the end of the season. Rubio is slowly getting there I hope Rose does too.
-
my cousins do, they got 4 seats in the 200 club level. They usually sell them for $85-$120 depending on the opponent, and then im sure they would sell them for an astronomical price when d rose comes back. But yeah i hear you, when i was in the chi i would get whatever tickets i could just to be in the stadium. Good luck tho, man I cannot wait until D Rose comes back! Every day i google news his name just to read these silly articles about “day to day” statuses and what not.
-
They’ll likely try to.
-
Yea, a fan getting beat to an inch of his life to the point that he was in a coma for months and has brain damage, all because he was a fan of the opposing team. Must have happened in Philly only.
Or a father and a son attacking a first base MLB coach during a game. Must have happened in Philly only(BTW, this happened in Chicago).
But let’s keep bringing up pelting snowballs at Santa, cause it’s what ESPN told us to do.
-
…lollllll.
Well seeing as how you didn’t read when I said i general..I can no longer even discuss this. Read first, there’s evil people everywhere u go, but the fans in Philly in general are the biggest douches.
-
I’d buy it, I never been to a game before but I will one day I hope.
I honestly feel that’s his return, also think he may return away. It’d get a lot of backlash but him wanting to return away from the pressure of the home crowd wouldn’t surprise me.
