City Council. The Committee on Global Opportunities and Creative/Innovative Economy will hold a public meeting to discuss spurring “economic development in Philadelphia by increasing overseas investments, incubating technology and innovation, encouraging creativity, and attracting and retaining the workforce to create good-paying, family-sustaining jobs with benefits and improve the quality of life for all residents of Philadelphia.” 10am. Spare Room Tycoon: Business Skills for Successful Self-Employment. James Chan, an independent business consultant and PhD, is the author of Spare Room Tycoon, about starting, surviving and growing your own business. Wednesday, February 27

Left-leaning group Keystone Progress is hosting their annual Progress Summit—a gathering of state and national progressive politicians and activists to speak on what’s next for the Democrat party and liberals.
