City Council. The Committee on Global Opportunities and Creative/Innovative Economy will hold a public meeting to discuss spurring “economic development in Philadelphia by increasing overseas investments, incubating technology and innovation, encouraging creativity, and attracting and retaining the workforce to create good-paying, family-sustaining jobs with benefits and improve the quality of life for all residents of Philadelphia.” 10am. Credit Union opening. A new Federal Credit Union will open at 1500 Spring Garden Street and an event to celebrate this will take place at the opening. 11am. 1500 Spring Garden St.

Spare Room Tycoon: Business Skills for Successful Self-Employment. James Chan, an independent business consultant and PhD, is the author of Spare Room Tycoon, about starting, surviving and growing your own business. Wednesday, February 27

Peter Edelman: So, Rich, So Poor: Why It’s So Hard to End Poverty in America. Pennsylvania Progress Summit. Left-leaning group Keystone Progress is hosting their annual Progress Summit—a gathering of state and national progressive politicians and activists to speak on what’s next for the Democrat party and liberals.
