A SHOP could be split in two along with the creation of three apartments, if plans
are given the go ahead.
Craig Harris who owns Unit 4 Tutbury Mill Mews, in Lower High Street, Tutbury, has applied to East Staffordshire Borough Council for permission to carry out internal alterations on the Listed building by converting the upper floors to form three apartments.
This will include the installation of two new windows and enlargement of an existing window to the side and alterations to the front to form new doorways.
The existing shop will then be split in two to create a second shop which will both be rented out.
The report submitted with the plans state: “The proposed alterations will be confined to the existing building footprint and involve internal modification only with nominal alteration to the external fenestration. As such the conversion will have no impact on the street scene.”
