HTC releases German ‘heart’ teaser as M7 listed in French catalogue

HTC is expected to launch its M7 flagship on February 19 and the company has released a teaser image linking to its German homepage while at the same time the phone has appeared in a French retailer listing.

The German teaser read ‘Alive soon!’ and shows an anatomical heart (the squishy, veiny and gross kind, not the seasonally appropriate Valentine’s Day kind) embedded in what looks like a circuit board.

Below this is the company logo and there’s a link to the German homepage in the top left.

While no mention is made of the M7, you can be pretty sure that’s what the teaser is about because it’s supposed to be a powerful flagship device and the main event in the company calendar.

What’s more, HTC previously revealed it had a new marketing lead with a new global strategy and it’s likely this represents the new slightly playful (slightly creepy?) marketing face of HTC.

There’s an element of witty self-deprecation here too in the sense that HTC has been on a downward turn in recent months. HTC perhaps views itself as some Frankenstein-esque mad scientist in bringing the beast that is the M7 to life, as well as bringing the company itself back from the dead, of course.

But what about that French thing we mentioned? Ah yes, well, French retailer Phone House (which looks rather a lot like the French branch of Carphone Warehouse) listed the HTC M7 in a catalogue, snapped by FrAndroid.

It shows a 4.7-inch Full HD display, 13-megapixel camera, something which sounds like HTC Sense 5, 32GB of storage, 4G, NFC and Beats Audio.

All of this is priced at 649 euros, which translates to about £560 over here.

From rumours, that display is expected to have a 1920×1080 pixel resolution at over 440ppi and the processor is believed to be a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno graphics chip.
