The Diocese of Harrisburg will observe Catholic Schools Week from Monday through Feb. 2 with theme of “Catholic Schools Raise the Standards,” meant to celebrate the attention Catholic educators pay to increasing the learning and growth in faith of all students.
Each Catholic school in the 15 counties of the diocese is planning events to celebrate the week, according to a news release. Lt. Gov. James Cawley will visit St. Joan of Arc School in Hershey at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Lebanon Catholic School will hold a “Penny War” service project all week to benefit the less fortunate of the area. On Tuesday, Lebanon Catholic’s mascot, “The Beaver,” will greet students on arrival and sending buses off at the end of the day.
