The Southeast Tourism Society has named the Top 20 Events for the second quarter of 2013. Included in the winning entries are three Owensboro events.

The Dazzling Daylilies Festival, International Bar-B-Q Festival, and ROMP: Bluegrass Roots Branches Festival were all named as featured events for May and June 2013.

This is the first win for the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden’s Dazzling Daylilies Festival. Both the International Bar-B-Q Festival and ROMP have won multiple times in past years.

The Southeast Tourism Society promotes events in 12 southeastern states. Independent judges evaluate nominations to identify 20 events across the region each month. Top events are promoted in over 1,600 newspapers, magazines, radio stations, TV stations and others, providing a tremendous amount of free publicity for chosen events. Selection as a Top 20 Event is a validation of an event’s quality and a distinction that events use in marketing and publicity.

The Owensboro Daviess County Convention Visitors Bureau submits events during the year for consideration.
