Grange Cottage is a four-bedroom period cottage, formerly the Coach House, with courtyard parking, twin garaging and additional land. Accommodation includes a hall, cloakroom, dining/family room, laundry, fitted breakfast kitchen, sitting room, four bedrooms and three en suites.

However, the showpiece of Normanton Grange, is, of course, the Grange itself. Accommodation within the main house begins at an entrance vestibule and reception hall and from here there is access to the formal reception rooms – the drawing room, dining room and family room. Each of these has its individual style.

An inner hall leads off to a cloakroom, and the fitted breakfast/kitchen with Aga. There is a useful pantry and laundry room, as well as another reception room, a playroom.

On the first floor, a galleried landing leads into the master bedroom with dressing room and superb en suite bathroom. Two family bathrooms and four further bedrooms also feature on this floor, together with a shower room, a gym and a study with kitchenette.

The sixth bedroom with its en suite bathroom, and a tank room with roof space storage stand on the second floor.

Normanton Grange and its associated buildings offers tremendous accommodation, but its attributes don’t stop here.

The one-acre gardens are well stocked and designed to provide changing seasonal interest. There are formal gardens, lawns, natural paved paths and various sitting areas that ensure the owners can make the most of the sunshine at all times of the day.

The appearance of Normanton Grange and the sense of arrival one has upon approaching the property are heightened by the electrically- operated wrought iron gates that open into the circular driveway and parking area.

There is an extensive gravel parking area and a paved courtyard with raised decked evening terrace. Brick and slate outbuildings provide three separate garages as well as a store and a garden machinery store.

The location of this period home matches the house’s appeal. Normanton on the Wolds is a conservation village that has long been regarded as one of the premier locations to the south of the county.

The village has a mix of substantial period country houses, smaller cottages and modern and contemporary development. Excellent transport links are provided by the recently-dualled A46 Fosse Way to the A1 at Newark, the M1 corridor and East Midlands International Airport. In the village itself, there are limited amenities but these do include a very well-regarded local pub, the Plough, and there are regular public transport services.

More comprehensive amenities, including schools, shops and supermarkets, are available in nearby Keyworth.

Daniel Bennett, associate director at Chesterton Humberts, summed up Normanton Grange by saying: “It is set in secluded private sun trap grounds in the heart of a conservation village yet is also within easy reach of excellent local facilities and communication links. Those who trouble to inspect Normanton Grange will not be disappointed. The adjoining Grange Cottage is available by separate negotiation and would make a first-class staff or dependant relative annexe.

“Normanton Grange offers a skilful blend of original and contemporary style executed to the highest standards. Viewing is highly recommended.”
