Without Sale, Depot Renovations Likely

depot2The old Warsaw Depot has been listed for sale for about two years now and, if it isn’t sold soon, the current owners may plan to look at renovating it.

Julie Hall is a realtor and co-owner of the depot with her sister and says there has been a lot of interest in the building and using it for things like a restaurant, coffee shop or even an art gallery. She notes the economy is what has held potential buyers back.

There is currently one business renting space in the depot and there is one upstairs apartment that is also being rented. There are three commercial units still available for rent under the current owners.

Built in 1893, the historic value of the depot has been well preserved, but Hall knows it does need some work and would like to see someone with parallel interests purchase the depot.

Depot1Hall says she has searched for some grants and low interest loans that might aid them in restoration efforts, but she has not been very successful in locating them.

If the depot does not sell, later this summer additional efforts will be made to find some financial assistance. But for now, Hall says they would really to sell the depot simply noting, “We have no need for it.”
