Known as the ‘House of Rock’, a luxurious party pad in Santa Monica has hit the market for $22 million. Located in the affluent, beachside neighborhood of Santa Monica, the home is often used for events since homeowner and high-end developer updated it with luxurious furniture and music equipment.
Homeowner Elaine Culotti has been using the ‘House of Rock’ for events since September after renovating the 1926 English Tudor home with luxury furniture and high-end music equipment. According to the Huffington Post, the 10,000-square-foot mansion was previously owned by actress and singer Kathryn Grayson but was listed for sale in 2010 after Grayson passed away. Culotti purchased the home for $7.7 million and completely renovated it to include a larger kitchen, “his and hers master closets and baths, an infinity pool and a home theater, which is still being completed.” Adding to the allure of the home, there are elegant “old-world details like the English Oak paneling, minstrel’s gallery and hand-crafted leaded windows.” Culotti worked with several top designers, according to The Wall Street Journal, including Ralph Pucci and Sami Hayek t o add modern touches like chain and crystal chandeliers. She also enlisted a Grammy Award-winning music engineer to design a professional recording studio on the home’s top floor and had “many of the rooms hardwired with microphone panels, fiber optics and digital lines so guests can record music in different rooms and then mix it in the studio. Musicians such as Christina Aguilera have performed there for fundraisers.” The home features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a two-bedroom guesthouse.
The home is now listed for $22 million, and one of the realtors for the home is Mauricio Umansky, the husband of Bravo TV’s Beverly Hills housewife Kyle Richards. The other realtors are Billy Rose and Susan Pekich, all of The Agency.
