PLANS by Oyo State chaper of EWAN (Entertainment Writers’ Association of Nigeria) to open up the state for quick growth in the nation’s entertainment industry received a boost with the understanding it reached with a Lagos-based entertainment outfit, In-House Entertainment few days ago in Ibadan.

Among other events listed by the association for partnership consideration, this monthly event, that is packaged to draw celebrities to Ibadan, has caught the attention of many corporate bodies.

“It is designed “to further position a brand, as well as help drive its market share on daily basis for a whole month,” says Mr. Ayo George, CEO of In-House Entertainment.

Having found favour with celebrities in the movie, comedy, music and sports industry (names not disclosed for reasons), it is expected that the event will keep Ibadan busy from the first quarter of 2013 that it is proposed to debut, till the end of 2013. “There are monthly events in Lagos that generate interest and marketing drive, what we plan to do is yet to be done so to say. What we have on ground already are only close to what we are planning. It could probably have been thought out by someone somewhere, but we have gone ahead to seek the support of guilds, event promoters associations, public relations agencies, the media and individuals on the project all in efforts to come up with contents that will deliver some benefits to every stakeholder. That is from celebrities to sponsor(s), media partners, etc,” George added.

The PRO of EWAN, Oyo State, Mr. Seyifunmi Odunuga, confirmed to R that partnership offers had come to the association, but after several discussions with many event agencies in Lagos, Ibadan and even Abuja, “we figured this particular project would be easier to package and still meet the expectations of the stakeholders.
