The following days to Halloween promises many spooktacular events in San Diego. Not sure what to do for your Halloween fun? Check out these fun and scary activities we have listed:
Halloween Family Day in the Village
Starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27th, there will be a Dog Costume Parade and Contest at the Spanish Village Art Center. The registration for the parade and contest will open at 12:30 p.m. Winners will receive doggy treats for their canine pals and the first place winner will receive a $25 Spanish Village Gift Certificate. Also available at the event, starting at 11:00 a.m., there will be live music, artwork, food booths, and various arts and crafts activities such as trick-or-treat bag decorating.
Balboa Park Halloween Family Day
Also on Saturday, to celebrate Halloween, many museums throughout Balboa Park will be allowing free admission for children 12 and under, with a paid adult. The various museums and cultural attractions will also be hosting an array of Halloween themed activities such as crafts, spooky tours, free goodies and storytelling time. The Family Day event will go from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The San Diego Air and Space Museum will also be participating in Saturday’s Halloween Family Day. There will be fun experimentation to witness including two pumpkins being dropped from a roof, one wearing a parachute and one without. The great pumpkin drop will begin at 2:30 p.m. Guests will also be treated to the hands-on activity of making their own ghost rotors, paper helicopters with a fun Halloween twist. The ghost rotor activities will be available at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. With a paid adult, kids 12 and under will have free admission.
Haunted Harbor Cruise
On Saturday evening, the San Diego Flagship Cruises and Events will be hosting a Halloween dance party cruise. The cruise will include a complimentary boarding special drink, street tacos and quesadillas sold on board, bar drinks, and complimentary coffee and tea. For music, the cruise will have two levels of DJ music (DJ Digital Opinion, Frankie Lektro DJ Business) for guests to dance the night away as the ship glides down 25 miles of San Diego scenery. Guests will also be treated to a fun costume contest with prizes for best ones. Prices for admission are $40.00 for General Admission and $60.00 for VIP. The cruise will last for 3 hours, from 9:30 pm to 12:30 am. Make sure to book soon before spaces disappear.
This year San Diego will be host to the 12th Annual Dos Equis XX Monster Bash. There will be dozens of the hottest international DJs, including Rock The Stage and The Knocks, around for music. Hundreds of people will be crowding the streets at the Gaslamp Quarter in a wide array of costumes. The night will end with a huge parade of costumers dancing about the streets. In addition, the World famous Costume Contest will be held at the Trudy Trash House with a $3,000 grand prize. Admissions will be $45 at the door and a $35 for a VIP Upgrade.
Halloween Heat and Costume Contest
For those wanting to celebrate the Halloween event on Wednesday night, the Belly Up will have a DJ, a live band, and a costume contest. Doors will open at 8:00 p.m. for those 21 and up. The costume contest will include cash prizes of $300, $200, and $100. The Belly Up bar is located in Solana Beach and admissions will be $25.
