[Update: Apple will also be streaming the event live from their website.]
It is being reported by several media outlets that Apple has added a new “Apple Events” icon to the Apple TV home screen. This new icon reveals that Apple will be streaming today’s scheduled media event live.
At this time it remains to be seen if Apple is only going to stream the event on Apple TV or if they will be offering a stream through other venues such as apple.com as well. This new channel also offers up previous Apple events for users as too. The listed events date as far back as June of 2011.
Apple has a hit or miss track record of offering live video streams of their events. They have certainly done it before, but it’s not a regular occurrence. In fact, the most recently live streamed event was in October of 2010 at the “Back to the Mac” event.
