Upcoming Halloween Events and Activities

It’s that time of year for kids to figure out costumes and adults to buy candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters.  Many places in the Brownwood area are hosting events celebrating fall and for Halloween.

October 31st or Halloween falls on Wednesday this year and in addition to trick-or-treating, many places in the Brownwood area will be hosting special events leading up to the day.  Some local churches and non-profit organizations have festivals and haunted houses for people of all ages.

-Brownwood Firefighters Association Haunted House – October 18, 19, 20, 26, 27, 31.  Opens at 7pm each night at the Home Economics Building at the Brown County Fair Grounds.  $7 for 12 years and up, $5 for under 12.

-Brown County Museum – Haunted Jail 2012 – Zombie Lockdown.  For ages 10 and over.  October 19, 20, 26, 27, 29, and 30.  7:30pm-midnight.  Tours take place every 15 minutes.   212 N. Broadway.

-Boys and Girls Club World of Terror Haunted House – October 25, 26, 27, 31st. 8pm-midnight.  $8.  1701 Avenue L.

-Austin Avenue Church of Christ – Trunk-or-Treat, October 27st, 5:30-7pm

-Early Church of Christ – Fall Festival October 30th from 6-8pm – activities, games, and hot dogs – all at no cost.  Preschool to second grade.

-Trick or Treat Trail – Thirty local businesses will give out candy and offer games in the parking lot of Wendlee Broadcasting – 600 Fisk. October 31st, 5-7pm. Co-sponsored by the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

-Early First Baptist Church – Fall Festival October 31 from 5:30pm-7:30pm – all ages.

-Brownwood Law Enforcement Center – Candy handed out October 31st 6pm-8pm.

-Abundant Life Church – Harvest Festival October 31st.  6-9pm.  Live music, games, free candy, food sales, and costume contest.  Prize for the best Noah’s Ark character costume.  585 W. Commerce.

-Coggin Avenue Baptist Church – Fall Festival, October 31st, 5:30pm-7:30pm.  Free.

-Brownwood Bulletin – Trick-o-Treat, October 31. Photos taken 5-7pm.

-Southside Church – Trunk-n-Treat – October 31st – 6-8pm.

-Bennie Houston Center parking lot – Trunk or Treat – 6-9pm. October 31st.
