The Washington Redskins injury report includes the team’s best player, Robert Griffin III. Griffin III was violently hit on the side of his head in last week’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons. After being escorted off of the field team doctors decided that it was in the best interest of the quarterback if he did not return to the ballgame.

Griffin was given basic concussion tests immediately after suffering the traumatic hit to his head. The quarterback failed the test miserably when he could not recall the score of the game or recall which quarter the game was in. Griffin later stated that he came back to his regular self literally 15 minutes after the hit, but he wasn’t allowed to return to the game.
The young signal caller learned a life-long lesson after the brutal hit, and did a bit of self-reflecting during his weekly press conference, “The one thing I learned was I can’t do that to my team, to the fans or to my family because life is more important than the game of football. These things that happen to us, getting hurt, getting hit in the head, that affects us down the road and I have to make sure I limit that. At some point, all players and our fans stop becoming players and fans. We start becoming people, and people care. I have to make sure I keep myself safe while still being the same player that I am. Keep myself safe so that my family and the fans and my teammates aren’t let down,” said Griffin III.
Griffin was listed on Friday’s official injury report as “Questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Although the general consensus is that Griffin will be available for Sunday’s competition after being medically cleared by doctors, and passing the various concussion tests administered to him.
Griffin took some time to elaborate on the specific tests that he had to pass in order to play this Sunday, “I got tested. Doctor came by, wanted to make sure I was fine after practice. I worked out a little yesterday – did some cardio, some drills, some throwing just to make sure my motor skills were still there and that I was fine and that I wasn’t getting dizzy after I was running. To come out of practice, they wanted to do it again so they put me through that. I passed that,” said RG3.
Barring any setbacks it’s safe to pencil Robert Griffin into the starting lineup this week. And it would help Robert immensely if his top receiver could also see the field against the Vikings.
Pierre Garcon once again made his daily appearance on the injury report being listed as “Questionable” as he still battles a lingering foot problem. “It’s painful, that’s why we set him out of practice. It’s tender and it’s still sore, but it’s a pain issue. [He’s] not sore enough to where he can’t push off all the time, so that’s why we listed him as questionable,” said Coach Mike Shanahan.
The Washington Redskins official injury report lists the following players as OUT: (S) Brandon Meriweather – Knee; (DE) Doug Worthington –Calf.
The following players are listed as questionable: (WR) Pierre Garcon – Foot; (CB) Cedric Griffin – Hamstring; (QB) Robert Griffin III – Head.
And the Redskins lists the following players as probable: (NT) Barry Cofield – Shoulder; (CB) DeAngelo Hall – Knee; (RB) Evan Royster – Knee.
