DENVER — “Shock everyone you know!” reads the description on the eBay page. The masked face staring back appears sure to do that.

With Halloween months away, someone has created a hauntingly-realistic mask of suspected Aurora theater gunman James Holmes, and is attempting to sell it on eBay for $500.

The seller’s profile on the online auction website was created on Sept. 2, 2011. This is the first item that has been listed from this account and the bidding on it expires a little more than a week from Friday.

“There is nothing more scary than crawling into James Holmes mind and wearing his face,” the listing reads. “His ‘soul penetrating eyes’ and ‘The Joker’ orange hair makes this mask the most disturbing object you will ever own.”
