Wakefield Art Walk Starts This Weekend

Join in the fun on Friday, September 28th, 5:30-8:00, with the first Art Opening and Party at Silver Clay Gifts Jewelry, to start our festive art events, Wakefield Paint Out and Art Walk! Behind-the-scenes planning has resulted in the events listed below. Additional receptions celebrating original arts and crafts in Wakefield will pop up unexpectedly, so be sure to visit all the businesses participating in the Art Walk and check the Paint Out website www.WakefieldPaintOut.org for up-to-date listing of events. Featuring the oil paintings of Wakefield’s Rick Mercer, who will also paint in the Paint Out on Saturday. Wine, martinis and hors d’oeuvres.

Artists can still participate in the Paint Out. Register at the Paint Out tent at Wakefield Farmers Market at 8:30 am.

Watch local and regional artists paint beautiful landscapes of Wakefield!

Art Raffle!  100% of proceeds will be donated to Art Design Scholarship. Come to the Farmers Market and see what’s included in the Raffle! After that it will be on display at The Savings Bank. Raffle Drawing, at the Savings Bank, October 13, 11 am. Raffle Tickets $5 each, 4 for $15. Write checks out to out to Citizen’s Scholarship Foundation, with “Art Design Scholarship” written in the memo.

Art Activity For Kids

Paint Out Goody Bags for the first thirty artists, ages 2-13! Create your own plein air landscape and have it displayed at the Paint Out tent!

Wet Paint Exhibit And Sale

Paint Out Artists display their freshly finished landscape paintings in the center of Wakefield Farmers Market. 20% of painting sales benefit Art Design Scholarship.

Enjoy a lunch break in one of Wakefield’s many restaurants—In the Center, on Main Street, Broadway, or in Greenwood. Try someplace new! At 3:30 attend the Painting Demonstration by Stapleton Kearns at Lucius Beebe Memorial Library, 345 Main Street and at 6 pm, the Art Walk Event at Kidcasso Art Studio, 101 Albion Street.
