Several events featuring women in gaming have been scheduled by the American Gaming Association (AGA) for this year’s Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2012 to be held Oct. 1-4 at the Sands Expo and Convention center in Las Vegas.
Listed as part of AGA’s Global Gaming Women initiative, G2E will feature several marquee events to support the development and success of women in the international gaming industry through education, mentorship and networking opportunities.
At noon on Tuesday, Oct. 2, renowned BBC American journalist Katty Kay will be the featured speaker during an exclusive GGW luncheon. Following her keynote remarks, registered luncheon attendees will hear Kay discuss her best-selling book, Womenomics: Write Your Own Rules for Success.
In Kay’s writing, she provides a fresh perspective on the largely hidden power women have in today’s marketplace – pointing out, for instance, that among other benefits, companies with more women managers are more profitable.
The following morning, GGW will host a networking breakfast and roundtable discussion featuring some of the industry’s top female executives. A panel including Katie Lever of Shuffle Master Inc. and Kim Sinatra of Wynn Resorts Ltd. and others will be moderated by Virginia McDowell, president and CEO of Isle of Capri Casinos Inc.
Also on Wednesday, there will be three conference sessions, including one titled “Guiding Light: Building Successful Mentorships.” Another session has been titled, “He Said. She Said: Gender Differences in the Workplace.” And later, there will be “From Big Talk to Big Change: Adjusting Corporate Cultures.”
Conference sessions are open to all registered G2E attendees, male or female.
