Hanna Lulgjuraj-Murray will sign “Lived to Tell It” at 1 p.m. today at Barnes Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Rob Miech will sign “The Last Natural: Bryce Harper’s Big Gamble in Sin City and the Greatest Amateur Season Ever” at noon Saturday at Barnes Noble, 8915 W. Charleston Blvd.

PJ Sheldon will sign “Career Strategies for Success” at noon Saturday at Barnes Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Christian Giudice will sign “Beloved Warrior: The Rise and Fall of Alexis Arguello” at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnes Noble, 2191 N. Rainbow Blvd.

EVENTS

The Smart Chicks Kick It Tour, featuring young adult authors Kelley Armstrong, Melissa Marr, Rachel Caine, Kim Derting, Kami Garcia, Richelle Mead and Veronica Roth, will make a stop at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. The free event will include readings, a QA session, book signings and reception. It is a pre-festival event of the Vegas Valley Book Festival (229-5431).

Nevada author Carrie Townley Porter will discuss the life of Helen J. Stewart and sign copies of her book “Helen J. Stewart: The First Lady of Las Vegas” at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park, 500 E. Washington Ave. This is a pre-festival event of the Vegas Valley Book Festival. The fee is $1; ages 12 and younger are free (486-3511).

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District and the Vegas Valley Book Festival will present “An Evening with Cheryl Strayed” at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. The author of “Tiny Beautiful Things” and the memoir “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail” will discuss her works with author Maile Chapman. A book signing and reception will follow the event.

Book Lovers’ Bistro meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

The Brown Bag Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the second Thursday of the month at the Laughlin Library, 2840 S. Needles Highway.
