In anticipation of its Iowa launch, Stone Brewing Company of Escondido, Calif., has scheduled several kickoff events according to a page on the brewery’s website.

Events are planned for Oct. 2-6 in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ames, Cedar Falls, North Liberty, Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.

The page advises to “check back here for more events.”

Sharp-eyed readers may notice no events currently listed for outside of central and eastern Iowa.

Stone has been tight-lipped about its Iowa distribution network, promising to forward information on distributors and kickoff events in a press release Monday.

However, Beerpulse.com has reported that Doll Distributing of Des Moines, Fleck Sales Company of Cedar Rapids and Fahr Beverage of Waterloo will be distributing Stone’s beers.

If that’s correct AND if Stone adds no additional Iowa distributors, this means that Storm Lake, Spencer and Spirit Lake will be the closest cities to Sioux City where the company’s beers would be available.

Those three northwest Iowa cities are all served by Doll Distributing’s Spencer warehouse.
