Oregon Days of Culture calls for event listings

The Oregon Cultural Trust invites cultural organizations statewide to post arts, heritage and humanities events happening Oct. 1 through 8, to round out the roster of events during its annual Days of Culture celebration.

Days of Culture is a collection of Oregon cultural events occurring in the first week of October. The statewide festival began in 2008 as Day of Culture (Oct. 8) to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Cultural Trust. Since then, Days of Culture has blossomed into a week of cultural experiences. The Oregon Cultural celebrates its 10th anniversary Oct. 8, and hopes for a robust showing of events for its milestone birthday.

Events listings on the Days of Culture website (www.oregondaysofculture.org) are free and reach thousands of Oregonians looking for local happenings and reasons to travel the state.

Listed events can be free or ticketed, public or private, part of an ongoing exhibition, performance schedule or open hours. Days of Culture events this year range from an archive and pub crawl in Portland to a Salem gallery exhibit on end of life issues, to The Seventh Annual Octoberfish Festival and Paddle Regatta in Charleston.

Events outside Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington and Yamhill counties must be submitted by Sept., 14 to be included in regional press listings statewide.
