A Brampton dental surgery has been shortlisted in the employer of the year category of a regional awards scheme.
The Goodteeth Dental Surgeries Ltd has been entered in the Regional Awards for Apprenticeships and Training 2012 (RAFTAS).
Hosted by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), the RAFTAS showcase the talent and hard work of top apprentices and Apprenticeship employers across the region.
Goodteeth has employed eight dental nurse apprentices in the past five years, through Blackburn-based training provider Training 2000.
The company has been previously recognised for development of its staff when dental nurse apprentice, Sue Mcknight, won the Training 2000 student of the year accolade in 2010. Sue has since been promoted to dental practice manager.
Marcia Reid Fotheringham, director of Goodteeth Dental Surgeries, said it was ‘terrific’ to be shortlisted.
“A good employer has to have great employees and this nomination is a true reflection of the quality of our staff,” she said.
“Apprenticeships have been vital to the development of our staff skill-set, each of whom has made a significant impact on our dental surgery. Customer care, time management and staff productivity have improved dramatically since we recruited our first apprentice in 2007.”
The North West RAFTAS is one of nine regional heats for the National Apprenticeship Awards (NAS) to be held later in the year at Birmingham NEC.
Goodteeth Dental Surgeries will join other finalists at an awards in Blackburn on September 27.
