Friday, September 7, is the start of Angus Heritage Week 2012 and every Angus Library is involved. Arbroath Library will hold a heritage walk, Montrose and Brechin Libraries will have a family history taster session, Kirriemuir Library will help you discover all about listed buildings and Forfar Library will be looking at old photographs available online.
Monifieth Library has called upon friends in the Model Group to assist with their event.
Regular patrons will know that the library houses a model of Monifieth during the 1960s. This detailed model was carefully crafted by the Model Group and there is a booklet which goes along with it. The group is also presently compiling an oral history of the town.
Members of the group will be presenting a talk about their research on Thursday, September 13, at 2 p.m. This event is free, but pre-booking is essential. If you’d like to come along please pop into the library or get in touch on 01382 533819.
Angus Heritage Week 2012 takes place from September 7 to 14 and includes many more activities taking place across the district. Programmes are available from the library now!
