During the Coastal Living Ultimate Designer Beach House tour a home at 194 W. Kingston Road in Rosemary Beach through Oct. 7. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $15.

 

Art exhibit

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County’s A+ Art Committee presents “One Man Show” by Dr. Walt Foegelle through Oct. 10 at the Northwest Florida State College South Walton Campus.

 

Vine to Wine

Taste of the Beach kick-off event, Vine to Wine, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 24 at Grand Boulevard in Sandestin with all proceeds benefiting local children’s charities. Event features 250+ wines to sample with food pairings from the dining establishments at Grand Boulevard, including Mitchell’s Fish Market, P.F. Self-defense classes

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office presents free woman’s self-defense classes including lecture, discussion and self-defense techniques suitable for women 13 and up from 5-9 p.m. Aug. 28, 29 and 30 at the South Walton Substation. Ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a guardian. Call 892-8186.

Master Gardener Course

Applications are being accepted for the Master Gardener Program, a joint endeavor of the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural sciences Extension, Walton County and gardening volunteers. The 50-hour course will be held weekly from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 7-Dec. 6 at the Walton County Extension Office, 732 N 9th St. in DeFuniak Springs. Applicants must attend all classes. Gigi’s Lemonade Stand

Every Saturday afternoon this summer Gigi’s Fabulous Kids’ Fashions Toys, 62 Main St. in Rosemary Beach, hosts a lemonade stand from 3-5 p.m. where kids volunteer their time to sell lemonade to raise money for Alaqua Animal Refuge. Call 231-0110.

The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation will host its Second Annual Celebrity Server Luncheon Sept. 13 at Carrabba’s Italian Grill at Silver Sands Factory Stores in Sandestin. Lunch will be served in two seatings at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  This fundraiser will benefit All Kinds of Art, a K-12 cultural outreach program for the fine and performing arts. Harvest Festival

Chautauqua Vineyards Winery will host the Annual Harvest Festival Oct. 27. Crafters from all over the Southeast will show off their talents. The arts and crafts show will offer jewelry, paintings, art, baskets, scarves, woodwork, embroidery work, and many more hand crafted items. Local car clubs will present a spectacular cruise in competition. There will be a variety of cars, something for everyone to see.  A $100 prize and 3 foot trophy goes to the best in show.

The local Kiwanis Club will serve up hot food and live entertainment will open with classic sounds by Smokin’ Rodeo from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Geoff McBride, local rising star and RB singer featured on NBC’s The Voice, will take the stage from 2-6 p.m.
