‘Supernatural’ star Jensen Ackles lists Brentwood house

“Supernatural” star Jensen Ackles has listed his house in Brentwood at $3.495 million.

The Mediterranean home, built in 1947 and recently renovated, sits on a walled site of about a third of an acre. The 2,636-square-foot main house features high ceilings, a loft library, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The two-story guesthouse has a gated entrance. Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool with spa, a kitchen, a lawn and fruit trees.

Ackles, 34, has played brother Dean Winchester on the series since 2005 and has directed a few episodes. The cast appeared this summer at Comic-Con International in San Diego to discuss the upcoming season. The cliffhanger that closed last season left his character in purgatory.

Ackles starred in the horror film “My Bloody Valentine” (2009) and appeared on “Days of Our Lives” from 1997 to 2000.

Public records show the actor bought the property in 2009 for $2.435 million.

Chris Carlson of Keller Williams’ Studio City office is the listing agent.

Buyer snagged in Santa Monica

“Spider-Man” screenplay writer Alvin Sargent has sold the Santa Monica home he shared with his late wife, film producer Laura Ziskin, for $11.1 million.

The gated Monterey Colonial, built in 1942, includes four bedrooms and 51/2 bathrooms. A honeycomb onyx fireplace creates a focal point of the living room. In the powder room, a smoky beveled mirror provides a backdrop for a sink made out of a single piece of wood. A hammered brass tub sits in the master bathroom.

A teak-slat walkway leads from the house to the swimming pool on the nearly half-acre site.

Sargent, 85, won Oscars for “Julia” (1977) and “Ordinary People” (1980). He worked on the screenplays for “Spider-Man 2” (2004), “Spider-Man 3” (2007) and this summer’s “The Amazing Spider-Man.”

Ziskin, who died last year at 61, produced “Pretty Woman” (1990), “As Good as It Gets” (1997) and the “Spider-Man” films.

The property came on the market in April at $11.85 million.

Elisabeth Halsted of Prudential California Realty in Brentwood was the listing agent. Noelle McCutchen of Gibson International represented the buyer.

Next act for his Los Feliz pad

Actor and stand-up comic Jamie Kennedy is looking for a buyer for his Los Feliz home.

Listed at $1.9 million, the updated midcentury house features walls of glass, pocket doors, three bedrooms, a den, 31/2 bathrooms and 2,400 square feet of living space. An entertainment space with built-in bar and dining area sits off the swimming pool, spa and cabana.

Kennedy, 42, is known for his comedy work as host and various characters on “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment” (2002-04). He starred in the 2003 film “Malibu’s Most Wanted” and “Son of the Mask” (2005) and was in the series “Ghost Whisperer” (2008-10). His voice work in animation includes “The Cleveland Show” (2009-present).

Public records show Kennedy bought the property in 2007 for $2.15 million. He is selling because he travels extensively and is ready for a change.

Jon Bronson and Yvonne Arias of Westside Estate Agency are the listing agents.
