WILTON, Conn. — A student production of “Lucky Stiff,” the SoNo Arts Celebration and a discussion with author Cheryl Strayed highlight some of the events in and around Wilton this weekend. All but one of the events listed are free.
Friday, August 3
Medieval Movies at Wilton Library: 10:15 a.m. to noon. The library is screening “The Black Cauldron.” Free. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
‘Lucky Stiff’ – A Wilton Student Summer Production: 8 p.m. The Wilton Playshop is staging a production of “Lucky Stiff,” a musical directed by Meredith Walker, with musical direction by Brendan Fox and choreography by Sharon Fischer. Continues through Sunday. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $15 for students and seniors. The Wilton Playshop, 15 Lovers Lane.
Author Talk at Wilton Library: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Cheryl Strayed, author of “Tiny Beautiful Things,” will speak about her book, which is about love and life. Strayed was formerly known as Sugar when she blogged for The Rumpus. The discussion is free; copies of the book are available for purchase and signing, courtesy of Elm Street Books in New Canaan. Saturday, Aug. 4
SoNo Arts Celebration: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The annual arts celebration will be held in South Norwalk. The event celebrates the arts in all its forms — dance, music, painting, jewelry, sculpture, photography, food and more. Continues through Sunday. Free. Incendio Performs in Westport: 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Los Angeles-based Latin Guitar World Fusion Group performs. Free. at the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts, 40 Jesup Road, Westport.
