Frank Sinatra’s Manhattan penthouse listed for sale

Crooner Frank Sinatra’s New York penthouse has been placed on the market this week. The once, party pad was the setting for some of the most elite celebrity parties in Manhattan.

If theses walls could talk they would tell tales of welcoming guests such as President John F. Kennedy, Andy Warhol, Marilyn Monroe, along with Sinatra’s close companions and “Rat Pack” members Dean Martin, Sammy Davis JR., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop, just to name a handful.

The Christian Post reported that Frank Sinatra’s penthouse is located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, on 72nd Street, and is in need of a facelift.

“The apartment has been modernized, but it is still set up for someone with that Rat Pack mentality,” said Jason Haber, a broker told the New York Post. “It is really for someone who wants to entertain, to have people over, to have dinner parties.”

Sinatra’s 3,000-foot square foot apartment overlooks the East River and occupies the 22nd and 23rd floors of the building. The penthouse is describes as having two wraparound terraces, 18-foot ceilings, features a glass staircase, four bedrooms and six baths.

The penthouse is considered a historical monument to celebrity fans, with neighbors who have shared a number of tales of the famous guests that frequented Frank Sinatra’s penthouse, such as how Sammy Davis JR., used to love throwing champagne glasses from the balcony so they would land on FDR Drive.

The famous apartment could be yours if you are willing to shell out a cool $7.7 million for the “My Way” singer’s former pad, and a piece of “Rat Pack” history.
