An all-events atmosphere is a healthy approach

Traditionally, sports teams head to a bar for drinks after the game. And some first dates start at the local watering hole.

But in today’s pubs, various activities are taking place to bring patrons in.

Take Dadz Bar and Grill at Route 38 East and Madison Avenue in Lumberton.

The popular nightspot offers live music, DJ sounds, games and dating events on a weekly basis.

Friday nights are reserved for live bands and this week’s group is Blue My Mind, appearing from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. For those who prefer songs they know by heart, DJ Mat Midnite spins favorites on the deck at the same time.

On Saturdays, try your hand at karaoke singing or just dance the night away with DJ Tommy C from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Beer pong tournaments are free to enter on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 p.m. to closing. Cash prizes for the winners are the main draw. And for those looking for love, try the pub’s speed-dating event Thursdays from 9 p.m. to closing.
