Ludlow Street pizza newcomer La Montanara had been closed for a number of days last month, raising red flags and concerns across the neighborhood, including here at Boogie HQ. The usual practice of a sign explaining “renovations” or “vacation” never appeared and some readers wrote the business off as finished. Nevertheless, the Forcella-run fried pizza joint has since reopened. And remains so. For now.

Most notable about the aforementioned situation, however, is the recent appearance of this real estate listing on NYCRS (via Craigslist). Apparently the business at 168 Ludlow is already for sale after just a few months in operation. The post wasn’t a freak situation, as various incarnations have been aggressively published in recent weeks.

Anyway, broker literature included on their website indicates that La Montanara can be yours for $150,000 in key money and $8,200 in monthly rent. Not quite a steal.
