THOMASTON — The Arts and Culture Roundtable of the Thomaston Area has announced a partial listing of its schedule for the weekend of July 13 to 15 in ArtZfest – All Arts Festival. More activities are still in the planning, however, not all details have been confirmed.
Friday, July 13, from 6 to 10 p.m., there will be an open mic at the Seth Thomas Park Main Stage. All musicians, singers, actors, poets, comedians and performers are invited to join in this way to launch a weekend of entertainment. Contact the festival at artzfest@gmail or simply “show up and sign up.” A show of fire spinning is planned to close the concert.
The activities on Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. include:
Seth Thomas Park Main Stage will be filled with music, dance and theater performances from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is a full schedule on the website, www.artzfest.org, beginning Tuesday, July 10.
Thomaston Opera House Main Stage:
Joseph FireCrow, a Native American and Grammy Award winning fluteman is at 1 p.m.
Celtic Magic with Daniel GreenWolf, a family show will be presented at 3 p.m.
The opening of “Footloose,” Landmark’s Community Theatre’s musical will be at 8 p.m.
Joan Nolan and Friends of Delphi present Hansel Gretel at St. Peter’s Trinity Episcopal Church at 2:30 p.m.
Mona Lisa Ristorante will have guitar music from 2 to 4 p.m.
Children’s Activities will be at the Gazebo and in front of Brickhouse from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities will include face painting, glitter tattoos, henna, a children’s disc jockey, carnival and other games, Fairy wings, and Pony Rides from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. only.
Kids Sand Art at Veterans’ Park with Sue Graham and Safe Kids Community Club is free and sponsored by Patti’s Place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Artisan’s Market will be filled with artists and artisans at Seth Thomas Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Potters and Weavers Market will have exhibits, sales, and demonstrations at the Lena Morton Gallery in the Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston will host a Photography Event at the Old Firehouse in the Town Hall. A photo booth and stations will be setup for demonstrations and coaching from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Watertown Art League will be set up at Main Street storefronts with exhibits and demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Phoenix Rising Center will host an exhibit of The Masks of Larry Hunt and the Puppets of Robin McCahill and offer workshops throughout the day. The free event is at the Historical Society Museum located on the sixth floor of the Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Seth Thomas Bradstreet House will have arts focused tours for $5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Fabric Bug’s Quilt Show will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a special appearance and book signing by Marie Bostwick, New York Times Best-selling Author, who will be signing copies of her new book, “Ties That Bind” from 1 to 3 p.m.

The location of the living chess game will be announced, and will run continuously. People will move the human chess pieces across the board.
Additionally, there will be a scavenger hunt and Violet the Dragon, a 30-foot dragon, will be on display and approximately at noon, she will “fly” through town. Additionally, the Terryville Historical Society is joining in the fun and will be offering tours and events in nearby Terryville.
