Wapping monthly events listing July 2012

A round up of the Wapping’s community, fundraising and important events, for July.

The Olympic Games begins on 27th July and will affect the way everyone travels until the Paralympic Games finishes on 9th September.

It’s a great time to stay local when you can and enjoy beautiful Wapping.

July 2012 events for Wapping

Mon 2nd July: Highway Neighbours Olympic travel meeting

Highway Neighbours, the initiative of four local churches invite Wapping and Shadwell to a meeting about Olympic travel with TfL from 7pm-9pm on Monday 2nd July at St Peter’s London Docks School [view details].

Thurs 5th July: The Shard inauguration with laser and light show

At 10.15pm 12 lasers and 30 searchlights will light up the the Shard and join it with 15 of London’s landmarks, including Tower Bridge.

Thurs 12th July: Wapping Book Club

Join Wapping readers at 7:30pm for the second meeting of the newly formed Wapping Book club, held at the Prospect of Whitby pub. The book under review this time is ‘Rivers of London’ by Ben Aaronovitch [view club details].

Sat 14th July: Hermitage Feast

Hermitage Primary School in Wapping invite you to the Hermitage Feast on from 12-3pm (and beyond). Stalls, games, food, music, tombola and more [hold the date – details coming soon]

Sat 28th July: Big birthday bash in King Edward Memorial Park
