today announced it has been selected
as a finalist for the Microsoft Communications Technology Partner of the
Year Award.

Awards were presented in multiple categories, with winners chosen from a
set of nearly 3,000 entrants worldwide. The Communications Technology
Partner of the Year Award recognizes a partner who is helping customers
to advance their businesses by building communications products and/or
applications on the Microsoft Lync platform. This solution integrated
communications across a wide range of business processes and
productivity tools (such as end-user devices, voice and video solution,
and communications-enabled business process (CEBPs)). It solved customer
business challenges by increasing efficiency, enhancing features and
functionality, or by extending the existing products with unique add-ons.

“We are excited that Microsoft has recognized Aruba’s significant
achievements by naming us a finalist for Communications Technology
Partner of the Year,” said Keerti Melkote, Chief Technology Officer for
Aruba Networks. “We worked closely with Microsoft, optimizing the Aruba
MOVE architecture to deliver a dependable unified communications
experience for mobile devices operating on Wi-Fi networks. Customer
response has been enthusiastic, and we’re pleased that Microsoft has
acknowledged our efforts.”

“We are proud to recognize our 2012 Partner Award finalists for their
outstanding commitments to solving customer challenges,” said Jon
Roskill, corporate vice president, Worldwide Partner Group, Microsoft
Corp. “Our partners are critical to our success as a company, and it is
their creativity and innovative thinking in solving the unique needs of
our customers that serves as the foundation for mutual, long-term
success. We congratulate this year’s finalists on their achievements and
look forward to following their continued success in the future.”

In June of 2011, Aruba announced
that it had completed testing that demonstrated the MOVE architecture’s
ability to deliver wire-like performance for Microsoft Lync Server 2010
over Wi-Fi. The tests showed up to a 75% better voice and video
performance for Microsoft Lync Server with Aruba as compared to an
equivalent Cisco Wi-Fi network. The degree of improvement was calculated
from mean opinion scores (MOS) after rigorous testing by Aruba and
Microsoft, using Microsoft testing and evaluation criteria. This
performance advantage for Lync Server users is due to unique Aruba Wi-Fi
technology that will identify Microsoft Lync traffic and characterize
its use in real-time. This traffic-awareness is then used to optimize RF
and network settings to improve voice and video performance, even in
congested networks.

The Microsoft Partner Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have
developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions during the
past year.
