The Seattle Department of Engineering erected the brick building, 424 S.W. Kenyon St., in 1936 to house a system that pumped water from the Duwamish River up to the reservoir.

It has since been renovated into a three-story home, with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 16-foot ceilings, granite and marble floors, exposed ducts and steel beams, custom railings, a family room and an updated kitchen. The 10,500-square-foot lot also includes a huge workshop and garage, and a shipping container converted into a storage space.

It’s listed for $850,000.
