Headquartered in the historic Centre Furnace Mansion, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, members of the group promote interest in historic events with exhibits and programs as well as a collection of artifacts, books and photographs.

Located in the Miles-Humes home, the museum focuses on local history, genealogy, church and cemetery records, and original Centre County records and periodicals.

Curtin Mansion and Village at Eagle Ironworks Historic Site: state Route 150, Howard, 355-1982. www.curtinvillage.com. Guided tours are available for the restored Federal-style home of Roland Curtin, an iron plantation owner. Exhibits feature a carriage that belonged to Civil War-era Gov. Andrew Curtin, an iron workers’ village, antiques, and 19th-century tools and machinery.
