A prayer by right royal assent

AS WE enter the national celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, churches are once again gearing up to join in and help facilitate events and celebrations around the city.

Some of them are listed under the Events section below. The Queen has a central role in the religious life of the nation, as the monarch always has since Henry VIII was made ‘Defender of the Faith’.

  1. The ‘Grace’ that can be used wherever food is enjoyed

This special role is described in the forward of a celebration copy of the New Testament that many churches will be giving away at Jubilee events.

Her Majesty has also approved a ‘Grace’ that can be used wherever food is enjoyed in homes, halls, streets and communities.
