For just $29.7 million, you could be sleeping in a bedroom that once belonged to Canadian songstress Celine Dion.
Dion and her husband Rene Angelil have decided to sell their 24,000-square-foot mansion located on a private island in Ile-Gagnon, Que.
Reports cite Dion’s “intensive performance schedule” as the reason the couple decided to list their house which boasts six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a customized elevator and a vaulted stone wine cellar at an asking price just shy of $30 million.
The couple’s realtor, Joseph Montanaro from Sotheby’s International, said the singer and her husband decided to sell the home because “it’s not getting much use.”
Dion is in the midst of a three-year performance program at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, where she performs several nights a week.
Once the house is sold, Dion and her husband will be looking to downsize into something more manageable, Montanaro told CTV News Channel in a phone interview on Sunday.
He added that the fact that the house belonged to a celebrity adds a certain appeal for prospective buyers.
“I really feel like it’s going to be a fan of Ms. Dion who will be buying the property,” he said.
Another selling point of the house is that it comes with all the furnishings included, including antique furniture, drapery, flatware and china, said Montanaro.
“Someone could actually eat off a plate Celine Dion has in her house,” he said.
The house, which was listed Friday, has already caught the attention of several buyers, said Montanaro.

Our hearts will go on…………….. knowing somebody with 29 million dollars laying around is going to purchase a house of a has-been superstar from Canada…

I don’t think this is the same house that was broken into when Mme Dion and Family were not home. Wonder how many properties they own let alone in Quebec?

The picture of greed. Who would ever need a house that is 24,000 sf? That’s just the epitome of over-indulgence and such a waste of money (money that came directly from the millions of everyday citizens who made her rich) that could have been used to help the less fortunate. Tough day when you have to sell your palace because you’re “just never there.” Oh so sad.

It’s not like Celine needs the money. Why not donate it? $30 million for a “house” is a tad excessive.

she won’t survive without the 30 million
grumpy ol man
Yah…she’s leaving.
Come on Canada….Lets all chip in.
