Across the district, Norwood public school student students are participating in a number of arts-related events during the month of May.
Here’s a look at a few coming up during the next couple of weeks. Events are free unless otherwise noted; for more information about any of the events listed below, contact Catherine Moen at 781-440-5917.
Balch Elementary Concert: The Balch Elementary School band will perform Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the school, 1170 Washington St.
Oldham Elementary School: The Oldham school band will perform Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the school, 165 Prospect St.
The Wedding Singer: The Norwood High School drama department will perform the play “The Wedding Singer” Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the school. The play takes audience members back to 1985 where rock star Robbie Heart is living in his grandmother’s basement and is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door, 245 Nichols St.
Jazz Night: Norwood jazz students will perform May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Four Points Norwood, 1125 Boston-Providence Turnpike.
Film Festival: The second annual Norwood High School Film Festival featuring work produced by Norwood students will be held May 14 at 7 p.m. at the high school lecture hall, 245 Nichols St.
Sculpture Show: Work produced by students in sixth through 12th grades will be showcased at a Fine Arts Sculpture Show on May 19 at 12 p.m. at Grace Church, 150 Chapel. For more information about this event, e-mail lmcgrory@norwood.k12.ma.us.
