Relay kicks off Friday, schedule of events listed

LAKE ARTHUR – Hundreds of soldiers are expected to storm the beach here Friday night.

But instead of arming themselves with guns and ammunition, these warriors will be armed with something much more powerful: hope.

Relay for Life committee members and team captains gathered at St. Martin Bank in Jennings Wednesday evening for final preparations before this coming weekend’s event. The annual ‘Bank Night’ allows teams the opportunity to turn in all monies raised prior to Relay night. But many teams will be hosting additional fundraisers at the event, while other fundraisers are scheduled throughout the summer.
