The second annual Nationwide Open House is taking place in Rochester and all over the country this weekend.
The Greater Rochester Association of Realtors already has more than 800 open houses listed this weekend, which is double the normal number for this time of year.
The open houses provide buyers with a chance to see what is available and sellers an opportunity to show off their homes.
Mortgage rates are still at historical lows.
“Right now what we are seeing is a lot of buyers are getting off the fence with consumer confidence in New York State, and specifically the Rochester area picking up, but at the same time sellers are realizing that consumer confidence in our area is getting up and they are looking to take advantage of that and are listing their homes to sell if they are in position to do so,” said Peter Stroller, Greater Rochester Association of Realtors.
More homes are being added to the open house inventory daily. Those interested in buying are encouraged to check online and contact a real estate agent to help them find a home.
