Up and Coming Events

As we enter Spring and summer there are a number of great events coming to Red Bank for you and your friends and family.  The first one coming is Red Bank’s Flavour International Food festival.  Following in the footprint of the Oysterfest held in the fall it will be held on May 6th in the

White Street

parking lot from 11 AM to 7 PM.  It will be comprised of  over twenty of Red Bank’s restaurants,  6 bands and a sampling of wine and beers to pair with the food.  This is the first year of this event and will be as well received as our  Oysterfest in the Fall.  We expect over 10,000 people to attend

Riverfest June 1st, 2nd and 3rd is the  Grand Daddy of all festivals in the State of New Jersey. It was rated in 1998 by Life Magazine as one of the top 100 outdoor events in the United States. This festival had grown stronger and better every year from 1980 to 2001 as a great family event.  People traveled from all over back to their roots for this festival.  We brought it back to you last year after a 10 year lay off.

What made the festival famous was the combination of great food and great music located on the beautiful NavesinkRiver.  Twenty area restaurants serve everything form old favorites to new gourmet creations.  You can graze all day on some of our areas best restaurants. The music will be non-stop organized by our very own Tim McCloone.  I highly recommend you put this event on your calendar for this coming June.  Red Bank will be on the charts all year with great events for family friends and loved ones.

SONGBIRD will be a high light of the summer with a concert at Count Basie performed by Lisa Sherman.  Lisa has had a singing career that has spanned over 30 years ranging from NY to local clubs and cabarets.  She put on a concert at the Algonquian theater last fall and filled the theater of 450 seats on a rainy Tuesday.  Numa from the CB theater was in the audience and invited her to do an event here as a fund raiser for what is listed below.  Her show was one of the best I have ever seen.   Absolutely knocked me and  the audience out  It will be one of the hottest local events of the summer.

SONGBIRD is a musical evening with undefined versatility. This event offers a  unique selection of music including: Jazz, Rock, Country, Broadway, Contemporary, and Soul all performed by Rumson’s very own Lisa Sherman accompanied by a choice group of the metropolitans most accomplished musicians and background singers. It will be presented at the Count Basie Theatre, 99 Monmouth Street Red Bank N.J. July 26, 8 p.m.  SONGBIRD is a charity event with proceeds going to: the MonmouthCountySPCA and JDRF, The Central Jersey Chapter to Cure,Treat,Prevent Type 1 Diabetes.  Don’t miss this show, it is one that will be touted as one of the best “hometown musical” events of MonmouthCounty.
